On Father’s Day, we decided to take everyone for a nice treat after walking around the zoo in ninety degree weather. I had seen this place on a list of the best ice cream places of Tennessee, so we decided to try it and it is delicious!

Las Paletas is a very small place that was started in 2001 by two sisters that grew up in Mexico. One of the sisters learned how to make the paletas in a small town in western Mexico.

The paletas are made in the store’s kitchen and over 20 different flavors are offered everyday.

I had the Mexican Caramel which is a cream paleta and is more of an ice cream bar texture. The fruit paleta is like an ice pop. Paletas are made with the actual ingredient, therefore the watermelon tastes just like watermelon and the avocado tastes just like an avocado. We tried multiple flavors, watermelon, Mexican caramel, vanilla chocolate chip, strawberry banana, and avocado.

Each Paleta is $3.50 and if you are in the Nashville area I would recommend this neat little stop to try something different.
