Aretha Frankenstein’s is an eclectic little restaurant that we found a few years ago. Whenever we are in Chattanooga, Tennessee we make it a point to stop here and eat.  Aretha’s is known for it’s breakfast food and  my suggestion would be to go in off times, because there is very limited seating and it can be crowded. However, it is worth the wait for the amazing food.

The restaurant itself is in a older house located in a neighborhood in Chattanooga, Tennessee. However, do not let this fool you, the food here is delicious!
It is open from 7am- midnight everyday and the address is 518 Tremont St. Chattanooga, TN 37405.
We are seated in the corner of the restaurant, so what you see in this picture is pretty much all of the seating. There are about six tables located inside, however, on a warm day there are tables available outside on the wrap around porch and on the front lawn.
The owner bought all the decor on eBay and even used refurbished wood from a gymnasium for the floor.  Seen here, are old cereal boxes that are framed and hanging on the ceiling.
The front of the menu states the truth, you will wait for you food to be served. This is a sit down restaurant and they cook everything made to order. Be prepared to be there for at least an hour to eat, with that being said, it is totally worth the wait.
Here is their drink menu and breakfast menu. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food that you get.
Here is the lunch menu. We have only ate dinner here, you can order off the breakfast menu anytime of the day.
Everywhere we go, we have to try the coffee. The coffee here is good, however I do have to say that we have drank better.
I had the spinach and feta omelet with potatoes and toast. The potatoes are some of the best breakfast potatoes that I have ever eaten, I highly recommend them.  There is so much food that comes on your plate that I doubt anyone leave saying they are still hungry.
They do not have a kids menu, so the best thing to do is to share your plate with them or order a mini stack of pancakes and let them share. The mini stack comes with two pancakes. As you see here, one pancake is the size of the plate and one inch thick. The pancakes are very filling.
Rachel Ray even visited Aretha Frankenstein’s a few years ago and you can watch the video at www.foodnetwork.com.
If you are ever in Chattanooga, I recommend checking out Aretha Frankenstien’s. The potatoes are a must and I heard the biscuits are delicious as well, they even sprinkle sugar on them!.
Aretha Frankenstein’s has amazing breakfast!
